Ich hab auf zwei gebrauchten u. wiederaufbereiteten Pixel 8 bzw. 8 Pro GrapheneOS anstelle des Standard-Android installiert. War für mich als Laie gut zu bewältigen, hat sogar irgendwie Spaß gemacht. Bei der Nutzung stehen dann Entscheidungen an.

Die Idee ist ja sich der NeuGier von Google und Co. möglichst zu entziehen (ironischerweise gerade auf Google-Hardware). Je nachdem, welche Apps mit welchen Berechtigungen man installiert, hat man halt nicht mehr den maximalen Effekt. Aber selbst dann sind die einzelnen Apps doch in ihrem ‘Aktionsradius’ eingehegt. Ein Handy wird mehr solche Apps haben, meins paar weniger. Für den Übergang laufen beide ohne SIM-Karte im WLAN.

The one account for all thing is often mentioned as a ‘selling point’, and as of now I think it’s rather ill-advised, setting up disappointment & possibly obershadowing a couple of nice things in that regard. A rather smooth part of the fediverse is that for example comments you read may stem from a lot of different corners, and writing one of those should work fine.

Regarding number of accounts you could experiment with a min or max approach first and then adapt based on your needs and experiences. You could re-use the first half of your handle, as the comment about identity suggested.

I know this thing with Lemmy, where you originally post without selecting a language, and once you want to edit it, it forces you to select one. Could it be language-related? I only checked the box for German. That just may not have happened before on a piefed instance? Then again, I was able to edit the sidebar afterwards.

Thank you for the link! I think both do and will co-exist allright. I think sooner or later there will be a German instance, so I’m rooting for sooner and for a solid foundation (like feddit.org) rather than a strenuous & vulnerable one person effort (like feddit.de…)
