bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Bird flu virus found in pasteurized milk, though officials maintain supply is safe0·1 year agoLol. You should keep trying raw cow’s milk! I’m sure it definitely won’t have any negative consequences! The only thing stupider than drinking milk and eating dairy is specifically searching out raw milk with even more puss and health risks in it. There’s a reason this stuff is illegal in some countries you dolt.
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Bird flu virus found in pasteurized milk, though officials maintain supply is safe0·1 year agoAnd knock knock jokes are typically not that funny once you pass a certain age. Lol. I get that it’s a joke, and have (spoiler) even heard it before! It shows more about the person making the joke I think. Maybe reach a little higher, use those tippy toes!
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Bird flu virus found in pasteurized milk, though officials maintain supply is safe0·1 year agoThat is absolutely better than most. Factory farming is abhorrent and I grow lots of my food too! Hunting is definitely better but meat can still have an effect on health. Worth investigating but it’s a personal choice ultimately. But to each their own and within their own limit. Getting better is the goal, if more people took small steps there would be less suffering in the world. I get vegans can sometimes be angry but there are also some who recognize the efforts of individuals.
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Bird flu virus found in pasteurized milk, though officials maintain supply is safe0·1 year agoFind the one who is constantly critical, not just of tech bros? Lol. I think people have forgotten how to be critical of their actions and then judge those with a healthy dose of it. It’s up to the individual but comments like these divide more than help. Maybe read a book or try to not be as antagonistic online. Start with just 1 day!
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Bird flu virus found in pasteurized milk, though officials maintain supply is safe0·1 year agoCouldn’t agree more! Can’t believe people ignore everything in their milk. They must really love the puss particles in it! Doesn’t seem to bother anyone! Or the 1000s of different cows milks in your single cup! Absolutely disgusting and not to mention countries that drink the most milk have the highest amount of osteopetrosis cases. It’s not helping! Drink up, chumps!
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.world•Luis Rubiales faces 30 month jail sentence for Jenni Hermoso kissEnglish93·1 year agoYes. As the law states. If a woman or a man did this they would be able to be sued for up to the maximum sentence if found guilty of the crime. Why is this hard?
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.world•Luis Rubiales faces 30 month jail sentence for Jenni Hermoso kissEnglish87·1 year agoWow. You’ve been working out your mental gymnastics muscles a lot lately, I bet! This is an impressive lack of logic. Congratulations, you didn’t contribute anything and are excusing sexism and sexual assault. You sound fun.

You don’t know better (or anything beyond the article) and you’re assuming you do. You’re literally pushing for more suffering in the world and for people to not have their own say over their lives and their bodies. What makes you so special? You don’t get a say.

bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo Introduces E2EE Backup and Sync Feature on Browser2·2 years agoGarbage results compared to google results? Lol. You sure you’re using SwissCows? Lol. DDG was my default before switching to SwissCows and I find SwissCows much better, personally.
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo Introduces E2EE Backup and Sync Feature on Browser6·2 years agoPlease do! Again, the results I’ve gotten (personally) have been far superior to Google or any other reasonable alternative.
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo Introduces E2EE Backup and Sync Feature on Browser4·2 years agoI believe you are correct. However, only on desktop. The Medium article specifically states they do not use ads on mobile so I believe ads are only on desktop. I typically use on mobile and have not seen any ads, nor on my non-mobile Firefox config when using SwissCows. Again, the ads are based on anonymous search results and in terms of relevant search results, at least in my testing, SwissCows far surpassed competitors.
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo Introduces E2EE Backup and Sync Feature on Browser5·2 years agoThis is not true. A 2-min look shows they are a Swiss-based, private search engine that does not serve ads (on mobile only apparently) and has its own web index, but also uses Bing’s web index.
Apparently, they do serve adds on desktop but they’re based on anonymous search results and I presume having UBlock installed would resolve this.
Medium has a whole write-up here: https://medium.com/secure-words/try-swisscows-privacy-search-for-mobile-what-are-you-waiting-for-e616dd828328
bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo Introduces E2EE Backup and Sync Feature on Browser121·2 years agoI had switched to DDG search and, like you, was getting more and more frustrated with their results. I then switched to SwissCows (https://swisscows.com/) and have never considered another search engine since. The results I want are always top 5. Every time. I sopped testing alternatives long ago and am extremely content using SwissCows! I would recommend checking it out!

Thankfully I never relied on Google Reader and have been using Newsify for 5+ years. Great app with a great newspaper view as well as an identical web version. Keept me off of Google and don’t have to rely on Feedly either.
Newsify also supports Feedly accounts though I’ve never needed to consider migrating. I think I’ve had a couple full text issues with certain items but it’s been amazing great and I’ve really enjoyed their product and price point for subscription ($50CAD/yr, I believe)

bushparty@sh.itjust.worksto Science Fiction@lemmy.world•The "bovine" joke in The Restaurant at the end of the Universe (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series)174·2 years agoI would argue that it is quite disingenuous to equate eating a plant with eating an animal. This makes the waters intentionally muddy, allows excuses to be made for how many animals one consumes, and does not take into account anything past the killing of the animal such as industry impact on climate, etc. This also shows some genuine misunderstanding of plants. With fungi for example, only the “fruiting bodies” are typically eaten as mycelium is often throughout healthy soil, and consuming a single mushroom does not kill the entire organism. Slaughtering a genetically engineered chicken that can’t stand up anymore is not the same impact or “killing” as eating a mushroom.
Lastly, animals also eat vegetables, plants and grains. Are these deaths somehow not on your hands when you eat meat? Arguably this would involve even more death and killing even if we do abide by the above flawed definition.
You’re absolutely correct. Canada is not pursuing Palestinian statehood recognition. This statement was the second strongly worded statement against Israel that doesn’t contain any specific actions or steps.
But oh boy, wait until warning #3 comes out! I hear it will be even more strongly worded and still have absolutely zero concrete plans or consequences!
