Idk I’m not a pharmacist, but I do work in biotech and have access to systems with PHI. All I’m saying is I treat this whole area with an abundance of caution.

It’s not about motivation. It’s about “is it feasibly possible to actually identify a person from this partially-obscured PHI”. But also, who the fuck knows if they’re going to care about enforcing PHI and HIPAA laws now 🫠
Which is precisely my point - if I were so motivated, I could suss that out. Or do a partial/fragmentary OCR match on valid addresses in Ohio that align with possible zip code matches and narrow it down to a relatively small potential target set of addresses and individuals.
FWIW I heard the show was extremely bad, and I had to see for myself.
It is very, very bad.
lol
But also, you should obscure that PHI more completely, just to be cautious.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why don't police use rubber bullets instead of live rounds? I get if someone is holding a loaded weapon. But wouldn't a rubber bullet have the same effect with out putting holes in another person?English
11·3 days agoAside from the “cops aren’t out there to save lives” points that others have mentioned… In case you were not aware:
“Rubber bullets” are lead slugs covered in semi-malleable resin/plastic/rubber. They can - and do - kill people when used improperly/carelessly. For instance, a headshot with one of those can kill, or leave the victim with a permanent severe TBI.
Also, they’re WAY bigger than 9mm pistol bullets, meaning they can’t be used in a pistol (generally you need a special weapon to fire them), and clip size is severely limited, and semi-auto action is (afaik) basically a non-starter.

11·3 days agoIt’s honestly a great idea, and it’s simultaneously awesome to see European countries starting to diversify away from the US-centric military industrial complex.

This is a frankly absurd and comical waste of resources in an environment that absolutely does not call for the deployment of the newest, most advanced, and most expensive naval asset in the USN inventory.
In no universe is it reasonable to deploy the Ford (or really any of our CVNs) to the Caribbean for combat operations. For disaster recovery, sure - you can probably hook up the reactor output to land lines in a pinch, if some hurricane came and wrecked a major city down there, and a stopgap power supply was needed. But for pretty much anything combat related, the absolute maximum of a reasonable naval asset to stick there would be an LHA/LHD - that is, a “landing ship” whose primary job in terms of aviation is to host a bunch of helicopters and a small handful of F-35Bs. As well as a bunch of smaller boats that could be used for, you know, patrol and boarding.
It’s so fucking embarrassing, on so many levels, for so many reasons - the humanitarian aspect is just the first-order outrage. There’s multiple layers of rank idiocy.
