Here is an absolutely crazy idea: Why don’t we save the corals by stopping pollution and fossil fuel usage?

2·8 months ago1.5°C is a symbolic boundary. It was agreed to not be broken in the Paris agreement in 2016. Not even ten years later, it is broken for the eigth consecutive month and in the yearly average. It will be broken permanently in 5-10 years. It is a symbolic boundary because it is an arbitrary number and every tenth of a degree matters. We still need to support climat action even if it is broken. But it is also a symbol of political incompetency and fossil fuel malice.

https://fridaysforfuture.org/ Fridays for future was created after Greta Thunbergs peaceful protests and now has many national networks using mostly peaceful demonstrations.
https://scientistrebellion.org/ scientist rebellion is a worldwide network of scientists using civil disobedience. Again there are many national groups within.
This was a few month ago during the last COP. Really no surprise that the COPs have been quite useless.

Protest movements overall might be most effective and trying to save our climate or at least reduce our impact just seems too be the most important thing right now. At least to me.

As we are already observing some of the catastrophic impacts of climate change, there is no change in greenhouse gas emissions. They are even increasing. At least Wile E. Coyote is intelligent enough to stop before catastrophe although we all know he is unable to avoid it. Why aren’t we?
