  • I had the same thoughts the other day when I registered.

I’m decently tech savvy - run a Linux server at home with virtual machines and docker containers, self-host a website that’s written and updated through the terminal/command line. So not a genius but more inclined than many but I was at a pause when I opened up the site.

The pause was what does an instance mean, is it important later on and all sorts which I needed to figure out before trying to read the instances. Those are two massive barriers back to back when in reality none of it matters.

  • Others have covered it well with sharing lessons you’ve learned and tips. But I think you’re fast approaching the fun part - travel and enjoy local activities!

If funds allow you can visit new provinces, cities and towns. Or if you want to stay local a new family or Canadian owned restaurant, takeaway or bar. See Canadian bands or theatre productions!

My favourite part of supporting local has always been knowing how that money gets recycled. Guy behind the bar - pays for his kid’s club, the local grocer pays the baker and enjoys his local roasted coffee. It gets spent over and over.

You’ve done a lot and with that same spirit you can see the people you’re doing business with and reap the benefits of that.
