gravity is cringe (compared to the electro-weak and strong forces)
On second thought, let’s not move to Linux.
If you get along and love them, and you pitch in with a modest rent and chores and cooking, honestly I think we should live longer with our parents.
There is a heartbreaking statistic that is something like when you move out of your parents house you will have spent like 90% of the time you will ever spend with them (or some other very high number).
I lived with my parents until 30 and now moved to another country to study, but sometimes feel very sad that I don’t live with them anymore. So much so that when I am done with my education I will move back CLOSE to where they live, and probably overnight frequently if it makes sense.
All of this probably changes if you settle down and start a family, of course.
Silver Wings of Morning is a Shatterling ship of Gentian Line. Shatterlings exist six million years in the future. The ship is so large that it contains other ships in its hanger.
I will have no trouble surviving in this futuristic ship.
damn, gotcha, thanks for all the info!
I would probably like to try making a perfectly square bread but I’m not sure I’d want to buy the special pan.
Anyways, thanks for the info – I now know what the optimal bread is!
I didn’t even know about the Pullman, but now I’ve found my new religion!
EDIT: Nvm, I guess it’s the common sandwich shape. I just found some images that were incredibly perfectly square and thought Pullman were these particular perfect shapes that required some forbidden technique.
Ah, gotcha! It looked like there was no crust on the top, but I guess when it splits the crust is gonna be thinner there.
Perfectly square pieces would still be a better packing shape.
Also, looking closer, aren’t the dents cut into the bread? This picture is a scam :(…
The article probably explains it but I think it’s important to mention every time. It’s not the total energy put into the experiment (charging up the equipment etc); It’s the energy put into the collision.
It’s an important measure but it must also produce more than is put into the entire system, and even more than that to be financially viable and cover costs.
My dream game has always been a game that combines the most impressive technologies with open ended gameplay. So like impressive modern graphics and; physics and; Red Faction-like destructible environments and; procedurally generated content. All wrapped in a good-enough gameplay package like an RPG or something.
I realize all these technologies come at great trade-offs, but the dream is a good balance.
It’s mostly the destructible environments from Red Faction Guerilla that I’d want in other games.
Something by Alastair Reynolds. I think Eversion would work as a mini series. Otherwise Revelation Space would be sick, but perhaps as an animated show instead of live-action.
this is real science
I started in software and moved on to physics, which has a lot of programming and is similar in many ways. Still, it’s different and I like that I made the choice. I will soon have contributed to physics in a small but meaningful way, which was my reason for switching. I plan to stop after that and just go back to programming. Posts like these make me think I should switch again but to an even more orthogonal subject.
