I was working on my car and had one of the springs out tightened down with a spring compressor. I stupidly had it stood upright with my face over it. I moved out of the way momentarily and the spring compressor broke, launching the spring like four stories into the sky landing in a field next to us. Don’t know what that would’ve done to me if it hit me in the face.
I’ve seen banks that offer investment accounts but they only invest in businesses which meet certain ethical standards. It was by the Co-Operative Bank in the UK, which is some community bank thing owned by the customers. Not sure how that works but they do lots of the ethical stuff.
I’ve also seen a charity where you could offer loans to small businesses in developing countries and if they ever became profitable they’d pay you back, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you never saw that again.

There’s nothing in the article to give the trophy back. The only thing in there is his quote saying that they asked him to put it in the Oval Office for a while and then when he asked when they want it back they told him to hang onto it.
I too dropped out of college (university) before finishing. I was undiagnosed ADHD at the time and just didn’t have the self-motivation to do it. I know a lot of people who’ve said that they would never have made it through the studies without some parent pushing them the whole way, and I didn’t have that, sounds like you didn’t either. Anyway, that was years ago now and nobody cares, if anyone asks about it I just tell them I passed. Everyone just asks what you studied, nobody asks you your grade.
I still find it crazy that they even bother with this nonsense nowadays. Piracy used to absolutely rampant. Everyone was doing it and there wasn’t any shame in it at all. I’ve haven’t heard of anyone pirating a game IRL in years apart from old games that can’t be purchased anymore.

It seems really normalised in America to get a brand new car on a loan as soon as your existing one has run out. I’ve bought every car I’ve owned with cash and I’ve never struggled.
Sorry but of course they got banned. If they didn’t then the government would be sending the message that military sites are fair game and suddenly undermining the UK’s military preparedness would be a legitimate form of protest. If this had happened in the US they’d probably be facing the death penalty for treason.
The house I’m renting and the house I own are both around 1930, which is considered modern in the UK. The house I grew up in is about 1800.
