Nice, and I’ve been informed that there’s a working app for it currently too. I’m all for full blocking, personally. If I feel like I need to block someone, I shouldn’t need to justify it or petition admins to ban them, I should be able to just do it and be rid of them in all aspects. And vice versa too, if someone blocks me for whatever reason, I don’t want to be left commenting on their content and trying to interact like an idiot, I want to no longer see them. Why should my upvotes and contributions in the comments go to someone that has blocked me?
I’ve got a busy next couple of days but as soon as I’ve got time to play around and get used to new things, I’m definitely gonna try Piefed again and the app, Thunder I think.
Yeah I tried the website in Firefox Android a while ago and there was something messed up in the theming of it for me. But at this rate, I might end up exclusively on desktop anyway. Dropped my phone the other day and now the bottom half of the screen is messed up, with big inky spots that are getting bigger. It’s getting harder and harder to type and see what I’m typing and I have to hit reply to read a lot of comments so that they go to the top of the screen lol. Gonna have to save up just for the absolute cheapest tier of phone that I hate sigh.
Oh nice, I never heard about that. I check into the Piefed community occasionally to check progress with apps and haven’t read through every feature and change but that’s good to hear. I’ll try it soon. Last I tried, it was adaptive too, so it scales perfectly to your screen and is as good as an app. The only issue I had was the weird theme issue at that time.
Hey Blaze, just wanted to say, I’ve tried out Piefed a little more. Can confirm mobile theming is definitely fixed. Think I might hold out a little longer for an app or more of certain options. A couple of things I’ll miss right now from apps is pinning favourite communities or being able to tweak my UI just right.
So I’ll probably stick with base Lemmy for a while longer. Thinking of moving to crazypeople.online though. Less de-federation but downvotes still disabled, which might just suit me better right now. If I do that, I’ll probably use the screen name that I’m using on this account right now as a username there. Although I’ll take your advice and link my accounts in my bio.
Yeah unfortunately true. I used to be fine just rolling with Firefox but ever since making the switch to using apps instead, it’s undeniable that there’s a lot of advantages. At least for now while I wait for more Piefed app support, Summit is pretty great and fills in a couple of gaps missing from the native Lemmy experience.
I’ll definitely carry on keeping an eye on things on the Piefed front though.

I think it’s Thunder indeed, but it’s only available on a specific instance for now, and not Piefed.social.
If you’re going to use an app most of the time I would still wait for a bit. Or try the website and see if it can work for you.
