    I feel like you’re being sincere in this statement but the person you are replying to is being sarcastic. The mod in the reddit post called themselves an avid diver, implying that this made them qualified for their mod role, and then immediately said something stupid, so the person you are replying to is using the term “avid diver” in a very cheeky way here.
