The only good thing the Greek classics have given us is Hades 1 (haven’t played 2, so not a comment on that). Even then the game only wears a Greek skin. It wears it well, but it ain’t trying to be accurate to a T.
Not that mr diamond mine would enjoy a story about struggle, overcoming the demands of your society and family, personal improvement, and counterintuitively accepting both yourself and others both as they are and as they want to be.
I also doubt he’d ever relate to Zagreus saying he would go through hell (literally) to talk to his mother, once. Something very relatable for many, including myself.
I like the Greek classics but it’s cause im a huge fucking nerd about mythology, history in general, literature, pretty much all stuff youre gonna run into the Greek classics prettt quick, I did when I was like…8 or so.

I love the second too! It’s also had family hardship to go through, a bit less developed on that though than the first one so far in my playthrough.
The gameplay in 2 is a lot more polished imo
Oh for sure. All the dialogs are great, too!
