I have been trying to find a reasonably priced hotjo mug for years now in the deep purple color. I saw a bunch of other colors or ones that looked close to the one I wanted but just couldn’t find the exact one I wanted. Well, yesterday my wife gave me the best valentines day gift ever! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Raktajino to make.
Nice! Found it here: https://highwave.com/products/hotjo
Oh no you haven’t been drinking out of that have you? That’s Odo’s bucket…
Nothing like a steaming hot mug of constable in the morning to get you going!
Ah, the HotJo Travel Mug. My favorite tea mug. I had it for years before realizing it was similar (not quite the same) as the ones on DS9. That is a new color they offer. I used to have a black one, but I broke it and dropped it and they don’t make those anymore. Then, for a while, they only made white ones. Finally, last year, they made a handful of other colors. I asked and received one of that color by my wife at Christmas. Enjoy yours!

Edit 2: My mug in case anyone calls me a dirty, filthy liar!
It is slightly different, but that is because the producers contracted HighWave, the makers of HotJo, for a custom version. Unfortunately, it’s the closest we can get at the moment. I keep hoping for a special run, maybe for an anniversary. Last year would have been the 30 though.
Close enough for me, especially since it became my favorite mug long before I realized the Star Trek connection. That’s just an added cool factor.
Curious to know if there are spillage issues with the wider base.
This has a rubber pad on the bottom of it so one it is on a desk or table it’s not gonna spill unless you really try.
those triangular-shaped coffee-mugs were really popular for a while in the 80s and 90s as they were supposed to be more difficult to tip over and/or spill the contents when being carried around/jostled. they were especially popular for those who liked to drive with their coffee, until it just became clear that i was simpler to design insulated mugs with lids.
I think where they really shine is on a desk, where you’re not dealing with cup holders , but a wide base and low center of gravity gives you a puncher’s chance if you happen to bump into it while grabbing for a pen or a book or something.
The mug OP and I have about is also nice and heavy, which also makes it difficult to knock over.
Where?!
Thanks. Not crazy about the idea of the rubber bottom though. I use a tea light a lot to keep my drink warm.
I imagine you could take the bottom off, but it is a very thick mug, so I don’t know that a tea light would work.
I’d like to know too.
Please tell us OP!
Seriously, I want one too!
