I literally offered it as-is last week, not running, for around $400. Nobody took my offer, so I got it running again myself. Price went up to $1000.
Engine sounds smooth as silk for being just a hair over 200k miles, transmission good too. Needs keys.
Yeah, this is not intended as an advertisement, more like how I got a deceased person’s truck running again. I had to fix basically all the main battery wires, and break the ignition lock.
It cranks, it runs, it needs quite a bit more work, and this isn’t exactly dull is it? 🤦♂️
Oh shit, I didn’t fully answer your question yesterday, my bad.
He had the battery cables all kinda goofed up, cut up, messed up, however you wanna describe it. I think he was on a certain substance and his mind wasn’t working right, he would always fuck with stuff that didn’t even need messing with.
So, I had to halfway reverse engineer which wire actually went where, do a cable extension on the chopped alternator cable, apply a few proper wire crimps (fuckall with random tied wires and electrical tape), and reinstall his totally borked attempt of installing the side mount battery terminals.
Then, since the keys are long lost to the sands of time and dead man’s memory, I had to force break the ignition lock tumblers with vice grips. Well, now I can crank it up with no key and no tools, just by hand now.
Oh, also it’s gonna need a new battery, the one he had in it has a bad cell and barely charges up to about 11.5 volts, so it needs a jump start to get it cranked up right now, but other than those complications, all the main systems seem to be working and running fine. 👍
We’re working on getting the paperwork and title sorted out for it before I bother with any further repairs or parts.
