Seems so odd in a way… seeing men fighting to the death, all dressed in colorful, ornate, fanciful clothing.
They didn’t have drones back then.
The colours made it easier to not accidentally attack your own side
That’s also true of the most bare-boned of plain uniforms.
These here looked appropriate for a full military parade.
