Great Lakes region, USA. April 2026.
Not the most glamorous raptor, but a lot cooler than most think. They have a wingspan of almost six feet and they can smell carrion from up to five miles away. I’m just glad I spotted another raptor. I saw about seven turkey vultures throughout my day birding. They fly way up and glide around looking for food. There must have been a family because they were all scavenging together.

Not glamorous, but still neat seeing bunch of these circling in the horizon. I think to myself, ah something’s died out there. Well that’s (wild)life lol
