  • Nature docs are shot by professional crews so it makes sense they’d have the top of the line FF cameras with crazy large lenses, but for an amateur or even semi-pro, I don’t think MFT can be beat in terms of affordability and portability. My kit is so light I just carry it everywhere I go. I’d miss so many opportunities if I had to unpack gear. Light is definitely a problem sometimes, but I don’t find myself out in those conditions too often. Or if I am, I’m shooting macro and use a flash. I’ll probably pull the trigger on the 100-400mm though. I can get one for around $800 used. That’s much cheaper than the ~$2k used I see for the 300mm f4.
