Great Lakes region, USA. April 2026.
I was out on a walk exploring our flooded town, and I decided to peek over a ledge to see the damage. I wasn’t ready to see this beautiful creature staring back at me. Before I could get a good shot he took off like a bat out of hell. I’ll be exploring again tomorrow, so fingers crossed he’s still in the area. I’ll be much more stealthy next time.

Any shot is a good one! I’ve never been able to get my phone out fast enough when I run into foxes. It seems like they’re always on the move.
Luckily I was already out photographing birds and had my camera in hand. I messed up coming over the ledge too fast and spooked him immediately. I have faith that I’ll get some better ones soon.
Oh precious! Their grey coat looks so majestic!
