"The [Winchester] Ringblaster® Industrial tool is a heavy-duty shooting apparatus that is designed for multiple industrial applications. The industrial tool is coupled with our specialized Ringblaster® Mount system which has a precision weight balanced construction that helps maintain bull’s-eye accuracy, with substantially reduced vibration and recoil. The Ringblaster® can be fired by a manual lanyard operation or an auto fire operation. The Ringblaster® has been used by the cement, lime, and ferro alloy industries for over 60 years. Because it has proven to be durable, versatile and cost effective, it has been the tool that these industries depend on.
The Western™ Industrial Tool is a portable alternative to the Ringblaster®. This tool utilizes a pistol grip and hanging bracket to allow an operator to shoot and maneuver in much tighter spaces and from a more broad range of angles. It was originally designed to remove ash build-up in power plant boilers. The portability and versatility of the Western™ tool makes it useful for many other industrial applications."

If, like me, you were wondering what applications for industry an 8 gauge shotgun could possibly have, it seems that they are used in copper smelting to clear slag buildup
I’ve worked with them at cement plants. It seems exciting until you realize you’re still working at a cement plant.
Hey now. Be grateful for what you have. I work as a nurse in a long-term care nursing home, and we don’t get to use industrial shotguns at all there.
Just regular shotguns then?
No. It’s just that “Industrial Shotgun” is my new favorite two word pairing that I’ve ever heard. It just recently overtook a weapon from an old Xbox 360 space game which had a ship where you could equip something called a “Chain Bazooka”
Then you’re doing end of life care the slow way.
They know what they did…
I have a friend who used to work at a cement plant. He hated it. Got all dusty and dirty every day, and sore joints etc. Now he works at a nuclear power plant and is happier than ever :)
Can confirm. Literal concrete boogers every day. Very hard surfaces and toxins leaking everywhere. Tire fires too. Nuclear seems like a dream except for all the political and security stuff.
The nuclear security guys probably could still use an 8 gauge shotgun, though.
Probably, yeah. I wonder if they’d swap their AR-10s for one.
Saw a video of one shooting a rope across a valley.
Ringblaster
That was my nickname in college
I had a similar nickname. Stinkydick Mcgee.
I guess I was the generic version ‘industrial tool’ … :(
Well, there goes my name for my combined video doorbell and home defense device.
Named like a hot sauce.
Really, how can you call it RINGBLASTER and not go all the way?
ULTIMATE RINGBLASTER 9000 PRO
Reminds me of a certain youtube vid
JFC 8 gauge? And I thought 10 gauge was overkill.
