At this point, it’s fairly common for significant rainfall events to have attribution studies showing that they’re a result of the higher temperatures that fossil fuel burning has given us. Whether or not we end up with one for this particular event, it’s something that we know will be more common if we keep on extracting and burning.
Of course he’s going to say that. If he admitted climate change was wrecking his state then he would be forced to take action. It’s much easier to stick his fingers in his ears and continue letting oil companies do whatever they want. What does he care? He only has a couple more years in office anyways. He’ll be gone by the time the shit really hits the fan. This rainfall is just a sample of what’s to come.
Shits already hitting the fan world wide. People are losing houses. Insurance is becoming unaffordable. People are dying.
