I was thinking to buy a e16 gen 1 with either amd ryzen 7 7730u or intel 7 1355u.

Which one has a better battery life? and Which one has better performance?

If anybody has any knowledge it would be great help. Thanks in advance!

This. The slow march of information as Intel gets dragged into admitting there’s a problem shows their focus is on avoiding responsibility for the issue.

Intel is supposed to release their new gen of low power (U series) chips in the next month or two, if you can wait a bit, id suggest you do so because the current gen will certainly be on sale for the occasion. But I think the AMD chip will use less power under real life scenarios, while the Intel chip will likely be a little bit faster. Since the AMD is basically 70% of the price of the intel model, I would say save your money and go for AMD.

Intel’s “core 100 series” (or whatever they call it) U tier chips are already out, and in the T14 gen 5. The cheaper E series are probably a bit delayed in getting released.

NVM just looked it up, the E14 gen 6 is already out.

I don’t mean to be sensationalist, but frankly, the way team blue is handling this whole saga kind of wrecks any trust I had in them for the foreseeable future.

The fact that fuckin’ intel, of all companies, would let their manufacturing and lithography processes slip so badly and for so long tells me that they have been making the wrong investments in the wrong places for a long time. This isn’t a thing that happens overnight. And the way they’re dicking over customers and their own employees in the fallout phase is just icing on the cake.

I think AMD is better at both performance and battery life these days, also the iGPU is faster. Also as someone else mentioned, there are issues with 13th and 14th gen intel (CPU’s are dying) so avoid that if you can.

AMD will get far FAR better battery life. The Intel CPU performs well under full loads, and at 100% idle. Anything in between and it falls on it’s face.
