Hey all, I’ve been using the Omnipod 5 for 2 or 3 months now and I don’t think it’s going to work out. 4 or 5 times now, the cannula (the little tube that stabs into you) has fallen out, usually while I’m at my kickboxing class. When I woke up this morning, my blood sugar was high, the sticker that holds the pod on my arm was wet, and it smelled like insulin, so I thought it had fallen out in my sleep. Turns out it had started leaking and the whole fucking reservoir was empty. I’m pretty frustrated, I might just go back to using the pens.
Anybody had any similar experiences? Any other pump suggestions? As far as I know, the Omnipod is the only pump that doesn’t have an exterior tube. I can’t do tubes.
Edit: I’m really curious what that downvote was for.

There are some misanthropes on lemmy who are really negative, don’t let it get to you.

The person who downvoted you has a history of down voting things… enough so the automod got involved and removed them from communities on a different instance.
Haha wow, thanks for the reply. I thought those people were mostly on Reddit but I guess I’m not surprised.
There is the Accuchek Solo, but it may not be available where you live (or anywhere - I haven’t seen it in real life yet).
I used Omnipods for several years and switched to a Ypsopump last year. I was afraid of the tubes getting stuck everywhere and such things, but to be honest: It has never happened to me. The big advantage to Omnipods is that you can take the pump off and reattach it later (either to the same spot or to a new one). The sticky part is much much smaller and light so it does not fall off that easily. You should reconsider your aversion because I think it would solve a lot of your problems.
