A vulnerability in the Signal Messenger Application has been identified, where Russian hacking groups exploit the 'linked devices' feature to intercept encrypted conversations. These groups use malicious QR codes to gain access and monitor messages in real time, bypassing end-to-end encryption. Users are advised to follow security guidelines and be cautious with their Signal settings to safeguard their information.

I often look at the total number of devices in a conversation to ensure I’m talking directly to a phone and not a desktop

Click on a contact in a conversation and it tells you how many linked devices they have.

According to Mental Outlaw on YouTube, the vulnerability describes a phishing attack, which isn’t a real vulnerability; as any app or service is prone to such attacks.
