I have long had a need to have this kind of private hiding place that no one knows about and they can never find me even if they really want.

I have such an old shed thingy where I sometimes go and close myself up for a day and just enjoy being out of everything and anyone’s reach.

Sometimes it’s low key scary because let’s say something happened to me then no one would ever find out but such is life eh.

Such hiding spot is very good for my mental health as whenever pressure gets too high I just disappear.

People may not understand why or why would I do it this way but I don’t try to explain or elaborate. Obviously I pick up the phone and tell them some lie that I am shopping or whatever and will be later or something important showed up thought it would be nice if they didn’t call either.

My car kind of functions in this capacity. I like to find little city parks that are unoccupied, empty parking lots by vacant stores, maybe a random cul de sac. I like to look on Google maps for promising spots. I will bring or stop by a convenience store to load up on snacks. I might bring my crochet project. Roll the windows down. Or play podcasts. My rolling hidey hole.

Car for me is nice as a form of travel vs public transport for this reason but it is not enough safe. Sure I can lock it up but still there’s still too thin barrier vs outside world.

I still look at my pepper gas location and check surroundings periodically or if the belongings aren’t super easy to catch

It’s great for transport though even if I need to look for parking spot super hard sometimes or get into a traffic jam

I think i figured out you meant gps location, but I’m having trouble understanding “belongings aren’t super easy to catch”

Each of us will find comfort in different things. I like looking at the outside world, having no one else around, having a comfy seat (which is a sporty kind of styling so it indeed wraps me like a hug), and if ideal conditions change at where I’m parked I can just move along to another spot until I’m ready to face whatever it is that I’m avoiding.

I mean that there are these people that will steal stuff from your car backseats by breaking a window whether you are in the car or not

Obviously I pick up the phone and tell them some lie that I am shopping or whatever

One thing I’ve found is that I usually don’t have to give an excuse. I can just say “I’m busy” or “I’m taking care of something.”

I keep a book nearby in case I really need an activity/excuse.

I’m hiding in my flat, I lock the door from inside. It’s private when I don’t let others in. When I don’t want to be found, I simply don’t answer the door or pick up the phone.

Flat here is too big though. It must be very small so that it feels right. As if the walls are hugging you comfortably and you feel like in some bunker. Also underground is nice

Well, yes and no. I have my workshop where I can be alone as much as I want, but it’s not really a hiding place in the true sense. I think my real hiding place is the forests around my house. I like mountain biking on the trails there, and it’s rare to run into anyone. I also intentionally wear only earth tones, so even if I see someone, they probably won’t see me. I’ve had similar thoughts about safety, though. I do have cell service out there, but if something happened and I had to rely on someone finding me, it could easily take days.

My actual home has neither an attic or a basement, but the garage does have an attic (albeit no basement). It’s super hidden, super high up, and the only way to access it is by a ladder. I could be like “alrighty, I’m going to the Bahamas for the week” and lounge there the whole time and nobody would know the wiser, or hypothetically escape capture by hiding there (unless special agents were after me, then they’d probably find me). Not that I use it that often though; the last time I gave the garage attic a second thought, some relatives decided to squat there for a couple weeks, and I don’t even remember at what point I learned about it.

Hmmm I think if I were to place anything into a food cabinet my husband and twin will never fucking find it.
