Wow… this had 5 seasons!!!

After a global viral pandemic wipes out over 80% of the world’s population, the 218-person crew of an unaffected U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, the fictional USS Nathan James (DDG-151), must try to find a cure and save humanity.

This is a nice popcorn sci-fi show, paints by the numbers, but still interesting tension.

Seeing Jayne Cobb as the XO with a bald spot was the first time a TV show made me fell old.

I finished watching season 1 - enjoyable.

    season 1 annoyances

I’m frustrated how easily a single cop took over a destroyer with 250 people on it (and presumably 250 guns)… that is just lazy writing.

    season 2 annoyances

The absolute moral kerfuffle the main cast got into because the Philadelphia authorities were euthanizing the infected seemed very out of character. These are military members, and they understand hard choices, now that there is a vaccine the equation changes, but the absolute black and white “your evil” take they have doesn’t fit apocalypse survivors.
