This is why I voted no.

Indigenous Australians are striving for equality but are given special treatments with healthcare, loans, employment and education compared to every other Australian that is struggling with all those areas of their day to day and this yes vote will give them more special perks to try “fit in” with everyday Australians. If you give the indigenous special perks it will further divide resentment.

The whole referendum needed more explaining as all the media did was say vote yes but not explain why to vote yes or vote no, people are lazy and don’t wanna google either and will just go off the rumour mill like when the COVID rumours were rampant.

There was also alot of miss information about what was in the referendum and if it was iron clad or would it be a brexir moment and people vote not knowing and then get screwed by their own government.

TL:DR; I’m sure about 60% of other Australians felt the same way, we’re not rasicts we just want indigenous to be with us, not have perks given out at tax payer cost creating animosity within a race.

This is why I voted no and this needs to be at the top.

Shallow hal had a great funny trailer but after watching the movie they used pretty much all the good bits in the trailer.

You measure your height in metres as in 1.8m or 180cm and for little things it’s mm (millimetres) or cm if it’s less then 1m.

It scales alot easier then the US measurement system of anything other then the simple metric system.

I’m not going to put one union on a pedestal for the sake of other unions as there is alot of shitty unions out there.

I know your paid for a strike but not at full pay and people are stupid and live paycheck to paycheck.

In our industry (mining) the government is alot more strict then the union ever is about safety or the government will remove the mining lease and shit the place down (been done to other pits in the area).

We work a rotating roster that the company sent to the union during EA talks and they said yeah that’s fine without consulting the workforce, and it’s been that way since and trying to get the older guys to change to a better roster is a nightmare.

Sick leave and vacation time is government mandated.

You might live in a destopian country with a shitty government but our unions ride the arse of the governments country wide employment mandates and then say they do alot.

Been a union member at my workplace for 20years, they only give a shit about pay increases for the workers and Linus pays his workers above minimum wage which is what the union would ask for.

In this economic climate no one will strike for just one person when it’s those members that are part of the problem.

Unions aren’t what they used to be and shouldn’t be treated as such.
