Got an apology via ‘Missed Connections’ but we had met on CL dating so she knew I would probably see it.
Also saw one for my ex (different girl).

I lived downtown Seattle in the 90s, close enough we just walked to Sit and Spin with our laundry. Best way to do laundry ever.
Also they were reasonably priced since they made most of their money off the cafe (which had really good food).
I’ll have some of those memories for life.
I miss Sit and Spin in downtown Seattle. Cafe in the front, bar and event venue in the back and laundry on the side.
I feel exactly the same way! I was a huge book nerd in the 80s and Frank Herbert was some core sci-fi exposure for me.
I’ll never not like Waterworld

Most of the emulators get the sounds wrong. I still have my original 2600 and a TV to run it on. Someday it’ll make it back out of storage.
Get rid of stops for small shit like expired tabs or dim taillights so traffic cops can focus on unsafe driving. John Oliver did a pretty good piece on this recently.
No, “86 the chef special” means 'kitchen is out of chef special.
Yes, your task is to remove it from the menu.
But you aren’t 86ing it.
You’re marking it as 86’d because the quantity is below minimum threshold (usually zero).
Same meaning in my experience. The patron is kicked out. 86’d is the past tense. ‘they have been 86’d’
You no longer have any of that product, ingredient, or in this case customer.
I bit my tongue, thanks

I’ve done the same thing. Was already living off grid when I was surprise unemployed last year. Made it about 3 months with no outside input, but eventually got sick from previous medical issues, so had to file for unemployment so I could have enough money to see a doctor.
A year later I’m now back in regular society with a regular job, trying to save up and start over.
I’ve learned that I can be prepared physically to go months on my own. But mentally is a different game altogether. Most of the prepper types would likely struggle without a support group. Being by yourself for long periods of time is FAR harder than most people think (myself included). The first few weeks are pretty easy, but it gets significantly harder every day.
Adobe promised that Lingo was the future of ‘PC and internet gaming’
Luckily by the time I had to learn to write that garbage I already coded in several other languages. Made it easier, but somehow more painful. I’m pretty sure that shit was designed so that executives could look at the code and pretend they understood what was going on. At least with ‘common terms’ it eliminated the need for commenting out most of the time. One line of code would take a paragraph of text lol.
Did you bother to look into it at all? What you are asking doesn’t even make sense from a design standpoint.
Nobody asked for a car you can print.
The way they are building their electric truck is the smartest way. Using available, off-the-shelf parts that have proven reliability. Nobody is going to be using CAD to create custom parts. Reinventing the wheel is precisely the problem and Edison Motors is working to avoid those mistakes.
Also, they are taking design input/feedback at the consumer level right now, BEFORE they have a ‘completed’ product to purchase. This is as close to open source as you can get in my opinion.
You could literally buy the same parts out of a warehouse and build a logging truck yourself if you wanted to.
Or you can sit on the internet and complain without having any idea what you’re talking about.
Edison Motors would be my bet.
That guy is doing some seriously cool open source shit on a HUGE scale (electric logging trucks). I’m sure once they perfect the process they will move into the car and truck market.
His media channels and shorts are always great, even if you have no knowledge or interest in the logging industry.
Because it used to be enforced. You would actually get jaywalking tickets. Also tickets for drivers who don’t stop for pedestrian crossings. So if you go to a marker for pedestrians (with or without lines) the cars will stop and let you cross. Nobody is slowing down for random bozo in the middle of the street though, so there’s no point in jaywalking. It takes longer to cross that way.
Cascadian here to confirm. Throw on an insulated flannel and a pair of muck boots and you can stay in your pjs when you chore in and out.
My scammy school got shut down by DoE 4 times before they finally closed their doors for good.
Took 20 years and 3 class action lawsuits to get my debt sorted.
