Carbon capture is a fraud. It is an effort to justify continued use of fossil fuels. It is greenwashing and we should not be putting up with it.
So then we’re just going to leave all that excess CO2 in the atmosphere for 5000+ years?
I did not say that.
The only way to fix what we started is to STOP BURNING FOSSIL FUELS. Full stop. That is the best way to reduce CO2. Once we have done that, then we can begin to spend the time and money on figuring out how to deal with the CO2 we already created.
If the oil conglomerates are promoting carbon capture, which they are, that should be a giant red flag.

Well you certainly implied it space cowboy. Something about the words fraud and greenwashing suggested you think carbon capture won’t ever work.
Stopping fossil fuel use will not fix what we started. Stopping will prevent further damage. Removing carbon may, eventually, fix what we started. So let’s not delay figuring out how to remove CO2 because you’re paranoid. Everyone already knows we need to stop new emissions asap.
how to replace missing energy, if we STOP NOW?
There are these amazing things called plants. Look at Trees and switch grass. The best carbon capture bar none.
Oh shit really? Plants? This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing. Anyway, that’s one way to remove some carbon, but it probably won’t be enough on its own.

These are carbon negative ways of capturing carbon that don’t require any resources to be mined or shipped or warehoused or any of the other logistical carbon emissions that you’re not taking into account with carbon capture.

We need to be focusing on methane capture and sequester if we’re talking about future gains to reverse global warming.

I mean keep up that snarky flippant energy though, it’s doing wonders for your argument. Remember you’re the only smart person in the room.
this is the post I was hoping to see!. Bravo!
First they remove incentives for solar, now they’re investing in capture and sequestration. Bold move, let’s see if it pays off
