Many of the original G1 Transformers, GoBots an other car based toys of that era also had metal parts. Die cast toys were awesome.
I grew up with Majorette as the gold standard. Over here Hotwheels came much later and they looked too weird.
we had matchbox as the gold standard, but also some majorettes. dont think i saw hotwheels above 2-3 times in my life
