Maybe with the exception of Scotland there, which if a leftist supports their independence it’s probably more because they want to make the UK weak rather than applying the usual reasoning on the National Question.
I would like to weaken the UK, for sure, but considering the long history of Scottish struggle for independence from English domination I’m also curious as to how they’d be, free of said domination. Maybe I’m making too many assumptions but I think Scottish logic for a long while has been of the “well if you can’t beat 'em” flavor, which isn’t moral but they wouldn’t be the first to make that calculation.
True, indeed quite a lot of people did, especially if they were white-presenting, straight, male, and Protestant.
That said, I like to think that free of the struggle against domination by their Anglo neighbors they might make perhaps more moral decisions. Unfortunately a lot of peoples are drawn into immorality by a desire to survive.

They benefitted a lot from British imperialism whether or not they joined by their own volition.
Also they tried to do a colonialism in Central America. They failed at it, but they still tried.
