Fascists can’t tell libs and socialists apart. Socialists can’t tell libs and fascists apart. Libs can’t tell themselves apart from fascists and they also confuse socialists with fascists all the time, yet fail to recognize fascists for what they are. It’s all a mess.
There are differences though. Libs can’t tell anything from anything because their ideology is completely and absolutely vibes based on whatever article they last read in the NYT and some half remembered aphorism.
Socialists see fascists as the bootboys of liberals that most of the time run the roost because historically that is what they are, and every now and then they get to the point where they eat all the chickens and that makes the liberals very sad, but only when they are told they should be sad.
Fascists see liberals as secret communists because their entire ideology requires them to always be the aggrieved and persecuted majority, even when they are winning, because then they are starving after having killed and eaten all the chickens.
It’s always funny when most people think that the democrats or generally liberals are the “left”. It just shows how much to the right the overton window has shifted in the last couple of years

Republicanism in the UK is either Irish Republicanism or about overthrowing the monarchy, so yeah in our context it’s left wing. /r/abolishthemonarchy for example is what you’d call a republican subreddit in the UK.
The people are a mixed bag though. There’s a class collaborationist thing going on between socialists and liberals pushing it. I suspect there’s a section of conservatives who lean this way as well but less so than the left and libs.
