Last week, top ICE officials ordered officers to increase arrests and to get “creative” in their methods, including trying to nab people the officers happen to encounter in what are known as “collateral arrests.” The orders come in the wake of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller setting a quota of 3,000 immigration arrests per day, along with a sharp rise in protests against the crackdown.

In Westbury, the HSI agents didn’t respond to the gathered crowd. After a few minutes, the agents drove away. A commotion erupted down the road, off-camera, and onlookers began rushing toward the corner.

One of the Nissans, carrying two of the HSI agents, had crashed into a black pickup truck that happened to be passing through the intersection. Three eyewitnesses told The Intercept that the agents’ car had sped away. Two of the witnesses believe the Nissan blew a stop sign, causing the crash. (Nassau County police referred questions about the accident to ICE, which did not respond to an inquiry.)

I think you’re attacking the symptom rather than the disease.

And i think they chose inhumanity. To call them human would not only be an insult to us, but disregarding their own self identification and chosen identity. Imposing that identity against its will seems a violation of its autonomy.

Well, they’re supposed to snatch innocent people, kids, break apart families, so I think it’s granted they must be some kind of sadistic psychopaths.

After that, the way they try to get around the illegality of what they’re doing suggests they’re also very, very, very dumb.

I feel like it’s pretty much what they deserve.

I hope they die of treatable cancer, because no doctor will touch them. That would hurt worse. I’ve been on the edge of death a couple times, and the ones where nobody could have helped didn’t hurt emotionally anywhere near as bad as the ones where anybody could have fixed it.

        “Does history repeat itself?”

“Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it.”

What they’re really trying to get their students thinking is “do we learn from history?” And the answer is a big, fat, fuck no.

Actually, I have considered that, wanting to avoid being the same kind of victim of partisan propaganda as stupid Conservatives. This is especially important to me, as I have been an Unaffiliated Independent since first registering to vote in 1977. It important to me to not succumb to the propaganda of either side.

My self-reflection has determined to my personal satisfaction that I am not shrill, I’m not an alarmist, and I’m not a commie. I have a history degree, 30 years of professional experience, and have closely watched the rise of extremist Conservatism since the mid-80s, so I am very comfortable offering my opinions with confidence. I don’t worry about acceptance from MAGA Nazi Traitors. I couldn’t care less about their treasonous, shallow, ignorant, violent, political opinions.

My education, knowledge, and experience has led me to believe that we are facing a divide in America as bad as the Civil War, and very possibly worse. The MAGAs are clearly taking their strategies from the Nazi Germany Playbook, and want to murder vast swathes of Americans. To recognize and warn others about it is not shrill, alarmist, or “commie,” and it is not lost on me that you are attempting to shame me into silence.

It won’t work. Indies like me aren’t afraid in the least of Cowardly Nazi Traitors like you. We know what you are up to, and we will stop you.

To see the Canadian government start pushing bills on immigration that are similar to those put in place to allow all this to happen in the US is terrifying as well. We voted in hopes of fending off this fascist takeover and yet here we are with Drumpfkins next door and our own “left” cooking the country.

Ummmmmmmm… Unless Westbury changed in the 6 months since I’ve been there, it’s a really wealthy area. Not that Latinos can’t be wealthy, but my dad lives there, I’m literally going there Sunday. Look man, I am a protesting, pro-physical intervention, pro-whatever it takes leftist. All I’m saying is random people shooting at ICE is going to end protest and resistance, and begin the part where the government shoots and kills protestors and resistance on sight.

If you think that’s the best plan, that’s fine. I do not. I think there is more that needs to happen before the shooting starts.

I own many guns. I practice with them. I have thousands of rounds of ammunition. When the government starts shooting people, I will decide if I’m ready to die to protect my family and community.
